Archaeological Museum: The Roman Collection and the “Tower of Ansperto”

Mediolanum, a city rich in history and hidden treasures. Thanks to an extraordinary scale model, we will unveil the ancient face of Mediolanum, a city once adorned with theaters, baths, temples, an amphitheater, and a monumental circus. The museum’s collection features votive altars, mosaics, tomb furnishings, and precious artifacts that once belonged to this lost world, giving us a glimpse into everyday life in Roman Milan.

Our tour will also take us to the poligonal Tower, known as the “Tower of Ansperto”, an integral part of the ancient Roman walls that once surrounded the city.

This remarkable example of military architecture holds another surprise inside an  extraordinary 14th-century frescoes that still adorn its interior. The upper section, now open to the public after recent restorations, has preserved its original layout, including its ancient arrow slits, offering a unique perspective on Milan’s defensive past.
